What grows in the language bed budding

Spanish is my first language. English I use every working day. German I am still climbing — around A2, which is far enough to order breakfast and nowhere near far enough to argue.

This bed is where the climbing gets written down: grammar that only clicked on a second pass, words that refuse to stay learned, sentences I found in the wild and had to take apart to see what was holding them up.

The convention here is that the first tag on a note is the language itself, so everything about German ends up collected on one page whether it started life as a grammar note or as a poem I was trying to read without help.

These are written for me first. If they are useful to someone climbing the same hill, so much the better.
